Brussels Sprouts Seed Balls

The Long Island Improved Brussels Sprout produces huge quantities of tasty and tender Brussels Sprouts throughout fall. Raw and shredded, they make a delicious addition to salads. Roast or boil for a savory side dish. Freeze for later use. Our Long Island Improved Brussels Sprout seed balls should germinate in 3-10 days and while it may be slow to grow at first but will take off once it has the first few sets of leaves. Harvest from the bottom of the plant up, once heads reach 1-inch in diameter.

Like all our vegetable seed balls, these are non-GMO and pesticide free.

  1. Sow spring after last frost, 2 inches apart.
  2. Choose a place that receives full sun.
  3. Germination: ~3-10 days days. Keep moist while germinating.
  4. When plants reach 6 inches, thin to 2 feet apart
  5. Keep moisture during germination
  6. Harvest when heads reach 1" in diameter


ABOUT SEED BALLS
Seed balls (seed bombs) are 1/2-inch balls of dried soil and seeds. Essentially, they are pre-planted seeds. They are great for no-till gardening and beautifying neglected landscapes. Sow by pressing the seed ball halfway into the surrounding soil. Non-GMO. Pesticide free.

A seed ball protects seeds from erosion, foraging, and harsh conditions. This protective property often results in higher but slower germination rates. Please be patient with your seed balls. Placed in the appropriate soil and climate, they will grow.
