The American Basket Flower is a US native annual that has stunning showy pink blooms that can be 3-1/2 in diameter, one atop each plant. The blossom has a basket-like arrangement of sepals, from which it derives its name. 

Although thistle-like in appearance, it lacks the thorns. A favorite of birds, bees, and butterflies and can be grown through-out the US.
